Evade police and motor vehicle crash

On Sunday 22 November 2020 at about 12:12am while conducting random breath tests on Wellington Street, Launceston police stopped a white Nissan Patrol.  The driver of this vehicle was a 24 year old male from Invermay.  He completed a breath test before evading police and driving away at speed.

The vehicle drove south on Wellington Street until it reached the intersection with Brisbane Street, Launceston.  It is alleged the vehicle entered the intersection, against a red light.  As a result the vehicle crashed into a Black Mitsubishi Lancer, causing the Nissan to roll, coming to a rest…
