Police seize motorcycle following excessive speeding in Northern Tasmania

A 22-year-old man from Launceston has had motorcycle seized by police after being caught travelling 87km/hr over the speed limit this afternoon.

Police from Northern Road and Public Order Services detected the blue CF-MOTO motorcycle travelling at 167km/hr on the old Midland Highway at Powranna about 2:30pm.

The man, who was a Novice Learner Rider was charged with a range of traffic offences and had his motorcycle impounded for 28 days.
